There are a million ways to celebrate a wedding these days. Some go the destination wedding route, some have large gatherings, some have a sweet, intimate event. Each of these is beautiful and special, and proof that there is no one way to celebrate a marriage. The celebrating is the important part!
I recently got to work with two sisters who had each eloped, but still wanted to gather their friends and family to commemorate their nuptials. They had a backyard party that was simple and relaxed. The guests shared a meal and gave speeches and toasts, and the newlyweds were surrounded by love.
These intimate celebrations are such a treat to photograph. Small gatherings offer an opportunity for couples to slow down and catch up with their guests. There’s less hurry and more connection.
