If you’ve been trying to decide where to take your senior portrait session, I have to give a shout out to an incredible Sonoma County location: Goat Rock Beach. This iconic beach is a beloved spot for locals and tourists alike, and it makes a breathtaking backdrop for photos of any kind.
I had the pleasure of shooting Madi’s senior portraits here last October, and we got so many awesome shots! This location has lots to offer – sandy beach, tall grass, stunning views, driftwood pieces, and of course that gorgeous deep blue of the ocean.
One of the things I love about shooting here is that we can get a few different vibes all in one spot. It’s so fun to play with the lighting and surroundings as we wander around and explore. Fall is the perfect time to have senior portraits done since photographers (me included!) fill up very quickly. It’s best to plan ahead so you have plenty of time to scout locations, and outfits. And, Fall in Sonoma County is something else altogether. It is a magical time of year here.
