VINE HILL HOUSE Wedding Venue

Vine Hill House is easily one of my favorite wedding venues in Sonoma County. Set among the vineyards and rolling hills of Sebastopol, it has that beautiful Wine Country feel without ever feeling pretentious. It’s relaxed, welcoming, and homey, with incredible views, gorgeous vines, gardens, and some seriously beautiful golden hour light.

One of my favorite things about photographing weddings at Vine Hill House is that everything is right there. From getting ready and the ceremony to portraits, cocktail hour, and the reception, you’re not spending your wedding day traveling around the property trying to find the next beautiful spot. It makes the day flow naturally and gives us so much variety for photos while keeping everything easy and relaxed.

Dan and Jordan also do an exceptional job running Vine Hill House. They genuinely care about their couples and every wedding that happens on the property, and that makes such a difference in the overall experience.

My photography is natural, timeless, and true to color, with a mix of candid moments and beautiful portraits. I keep things relaxed and fun while making sure we take advantage of everything this property has to offer.

If you’re searching for a Vine Hill House wedding photographer or Sebastopol wedding photographer, I’d love to hear what you’re planning. This is one Sonoma County wedding venue I’m always excited to come back to.

Why I Love Photographing Weddings at VINE HILL HOUSE

Vine Hill House is unlike any other wedding venue in Sonoma County

There’s a reason Vine Hill House is one of my favorite places to photograph weddings in Sonoma County. It’s beautiful without trying too hard. You have the vineyards, gardens, incredible views, gorgeous golden hour light, and everything you need for the entire wedding day right there.

And honestly, that matters. We’re not spending half the day schlepping across a huge property chasing photo locations. We can grab beautiful portraits in the vines, sneak out for 15 minutes at golden hour, and have you right back at cocktail hour with your favorite people.

I also love the overall feel of Vine Hill House. It’s polished and beautiful, but it’s not pretentious or stuffy. That fits the way I photograph weddings perfectly. I want your photos to feel elevated and timeless, but I also want you to relax, have fun, drink the champagne, dance with your friends, and actually enjoy your wedding.

And Dan and Jordan are a huge part of what makes this place so special. They genuinely care about their couples and every wedding they host, and you feel that when you’re there.

If you’re looking for a Vine Hill House wedding photographer or Sebastopol wedding photographer who knows the property and loves photographing here, I’d absolutely love to come back.

A Real Wedding

TESSA AND TOM's VINE HILL HOUSE Wedding

Tessa and Tom’s wedding at Vine Hill House in Sebastopol was colorful, creative, relaxed, and SO much fun to photograph.

They put their personalities into every part of the day. Tessa’s bridesmaids each wore a different color with bouquets to match, while her bouquet brought all of those colors together. Tessa and Tom also made their own invitations and signage, so capturing all those little details was especially important.

And Vine Hill House was the perfect backdrop for it. We had the gardens, vines, gorgeous Sonoma County views, and beautiful golden hour light all within a few steps of the celebration. I even got the drone up during cocktail hour to capture the property from above while everyone was outside enjoying themselves.

Once the party started, it REALLY started. They had a magician entertaining guests, Tessa changed into a sparkly second dress, and then this huge orange full moon came up over the hills while everyone was dancing. You better believe we got that photo!

This wedding is exactly why I love being a Vine Hill House wedding photographer. Beautiful photos, a laid back Wine Country setting, and a couple who actually got to enjoy the hell out of their wedding day. Give me more of this!

at VINE HILL HOUSE

The Cypress Tress

Right in front of the house, the tall cypress tress create one of my favorite spots for a first look. We tucked Tessa and Tom into the shade, surrounded them with all that gorgeous green, and created some beautiful portraits with an almost film-like feel. Simple, romantic, and SO pretty.

The Vineyards

The vineyards are right behind Vine Hill House, which means we can sneak away without actually going anywhere. I love getting couples into the vines to walk, play, move around, and create photos that feel relaxed while still giving you that classic Sonoma Wine Country backdrop.

Golden Hour

And then there’s golden hour! The open area near the front of the property catches some seriously beautiful evening light. It’s the perfect place to sneak away for 10 or 15 minutes, soak up that warm Sonoma County glow, get some killer photos, and head right back to the party.

Planning Your VINE HILL HOUSE

A wedding timeline at Vine Hill House doesn’t need to be complicated. Dan and Jordan are amazing at guiding you through the day, and I’ll help make sure we have plenty of time for the photos that matter without making your wedding feel like one giant photoshoot.

My biggest tip? Consider a first look. It gives us time to knock out couple portraits, wedding party, and some family photos before the ceremony, which means less posing afterward and more time actually enjoying cocktail hour.

Then we save 10 to 15 minutes for that gorgeous Vine Hill House golden hour, grab some killer photos, and get you right back to the party.

Easy. Relaxed. Exactly how your wedding day should feel.

A few tips for your Vine Hill House wedding? Keep it simple. Trust your timeline, consider a First Look, save a few minutes for that gorgeous golden hour light, and then go enjoy your people.

I’ll help you prep everything before the wedding, from your photo timeline and family shot list to all those little details you don’t want to think about on the day.

Once your wedding arrives, your only job is to be present. Drink the champagne. Hug your people. Hit the dance floor. I’ll guide you when you need me and document everything else as it unfolds.

Vine Hill House is one of those Sonoma County wedding venues that just makes sense. Set among the vineyards of Sebastopol, it has incredible views, beautiful gardens, gorgeous light, and a relaxed Wine Country feel that never feels overly formal.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! Vine Hill House is actually one of my favorite Sonoma County wedding venues to photograph, and I’m proud to be part of their vendor list. Dan, Jordan, and I have a great relationship, and they know the kind of couples who are going to be a great fit for the way I work.

As a Vine Hill House wedding photographer, I already know the property, the light, the best little photo spots, and how to keep things moving without making your wedding feel like one long photoshoot.

I’m organized when I need to be, creative when the moment calls for it, and always looking for the little things happening in between. I photograph a mix of digital and 35mm film, love a good flat lay, will get the drone up when it makes sense, and document the hell out of the party.

Basically, I know Vine Hill House, I love working there, and I’d happily photograph weddings here again and again.

Golden hour will always be one of my favorite times to photograph. It’s romantic, cinematic, soft, and just SO beautiful. And I know how to work with that warm light while keeping your skin tones natural and true to color, not orange and overly warm.

But that’s what I love about photographing weddings at Vine Hill House. We don’t have to wait for golden hour to make beautiful photos. The courtyard has these gorgeous canopies of trees that filter the light beautifully, there’s incredible greenery around the house, and even a little grove of redwoods that feels completely magical.

I’m a natural light photographer at heart, and knowing how to find, filter, and use great light is a huge part of what I do. Vine Hill House gives us SO much to work with throughout the entire day.

For most Vine Hill House weddings, I recommend 8 to 10 hours of photography, with 9 or 10 being that sweet spot if you want the full story without feeling rushed.

Ten hours gives us time for getting ready, a beautiful flat lay, all those little details, portraits, ceremony, golden hour, and plenty of the party once the sun goes down. And Vine Hill House is SO fun at night, especially when the whiskey bar opens and the dancing moves into the redwoods.

More time means less rushing, more real moments, and a gallery that actually feels like your entire wedding day.

Yes. Every couple receives timeline guidance to ensure the day flows smoothly while allowing enough time for portraits, family photos, and all the meaningful moments in between.

More Than Beautiful Photos

I’m not really into fancy labels or making your wedding day feel like one giant production. I’m laid back, organized, efficient, and I know when to step in and when to let the moment happen.

I’ll make sure we get the beautiful portraits, the details, the light, and all the photos you want. But I’m also watching for your dad tearing up, your best friend losing it during the vows, your grandma on the dance floor, and all the hilarious little moments you didn’t even know were happening.

I love my clients, I take what I do seriously, and I work REALLY hard for you. But the experience itself? I want that to feel easy, fun, and completely comfortable.

Beautiful, timeless photos without all the fuss. That’s pretty much me.
