Villa Chanticleer Fall Wedding | Stunning Photos And A Great Party

If you’re dreaming of a fall wedding tucked beneath towering redwoods, full of rich seasonal florals, emotional moments, and one incredible party—Christine and Wil’s Villa Chanticleer Fall Wedding in Healdsburg is the perfect inspiration.

This late-season celebration had everything: cozy autumn light, deep jewel-tone colors, heartfelt family moments, and a dance floor that did. not. quit.

As a Healdsburg wedding photographer, Villa Chanticleer is a venue I love photographing—but it’s also one of the trickier venues in Sonoma County when it comes to lighting. And that’s exactly why I want to share not only this beautiful story, but also what couples need to know when choosing their photographer for this breathtaking, historic venue.

A Cozy, Romantic Fall Wedding Under the Redwoods

Christine’s morning began surrounded by her closest women, helping her into her soft, romantic off-the-shoulder gown. Her bouquet—with burgundy, blush, cream, and touches of mauve—set the perfect fall tone for the day.

Meanwhile, Wil and his groomsmen looked timeless in their tuxes, with subtle touches of burgundy tying in beautifully with the florals and fall palette.

Their ceremony took place beneath the towering trees behind the Villa Chanticleer gazebo. The golden afternoon light filtered through the branches, giving us those dreamy fall tones you only get this time of year. As they recessed down the aisle—Christine lifting her bouquet triumphantly in the air and Wil glowing beside her—you could feel the joy radiating from everyone.

The Reception: Warm Wood Tones, Lush Florals & A Packed Dance Floor

Inside Villa Chanticleer, the reception hall’s warm wood paneling creates the perfect cozy fall vibe. Christine and Wil added lush floral centerpieces filled with deep reds, soft pinks, and creamy whites, creating a timeless and elegant atmosphere.

Their first dance was pure magic. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, they melted into each other—Christine smiling ear to ear, Wil gently resting his forehead on hers. Those little moments are what make wedding days unforgettable.

And once dinner wrapped up?
The dance floor absolutely erupted.
A true Great Party in every sense.

Important Note for Couples: Villa Chanticleer Is a Darker Venue

If you’re considering a Villa Chanticleer wedding in Healdsburg, there’s one thing I want couples to know:

This venue is naturally dark—both indoors and under the redwoods.

Because of this, your photographer must be equipped with:

Professional off-camera flash (OCF)
Backup lighting systems
Experience shooting in heavy shade and low-light receptions
The ability to balance flash with natural light for true-to-color skin tones

Without the right lighting skills and equipment, photos from Villa Chanticleer can easily turn grainy, muddy, or underexposed.

This is one of the biggest reasons couples choose me for their Chanticleer wedding—because I bring multiple flashes, light modifiers, and professional lighting techniques to ensure every moment is beautifully captured:

✔ Crisp portraits in the redwoods
✔ Vibrant reception images that still feel warm and natural
✔ Clean, flattering light in a very dark ballroom
✔ True-to-color skin tones, even at night

Christine and Wil’s gallery is a perfect example of how thoughtful lighting transforms a dim venue into a gorgeous, glowing celebration.
