Darryl reached out weeks in advance with the sweetest plan: he wanted Abby to think they were simply heading out for photos before dinner with friends. Meanwhile, their entire group was hiding nearby — waiting to celebrate the minute she said yes.
We started at one of my favorite Sea Ranch pathways near the bluffs. The fall light was soft and warm (one of the reasons fall Sea Ranch proposals and elopements are truly the best). As they walked toward the overlook, Darryl paused, turned to Abby, and dropped to one knee.
Her reaction? Pure joy. Shock. Tears. Laughter. All of it wrapped in golden November light.
