Every once in a while I get to take part in a destination wedding outside of my sweet hometown of Sonoma, and this Cancun wedding was one such occasion.
It’s no secret that I love a beach wedding, and experiencing this tropical location was amazing. The Northern California beaches are quite different from those found in Mexico. The soothing sounds of the waves and the salty air are familiar, but the tropical flowers, heat, and crystal blue waters are unique.
Jessica and Nick gathered an intimate group of family and friends to celebrate their big day in Mexico last February. The warm sun was a welcome friend after leaving the dreary Sonoma winter. There were so many vibrant pops of color everywhere we turned: from the tiles and the buildings to the gorgeous floral arrangements.
The endless ocean views and tall palm trees provided the most picturesque background to captures photos of the celebration. The couple also took advantage of a few memorable settings for photos, such as a set of swings on the beach and an expansive rock jetty stretching out into the ocean.
Beach weddings seem to make everything feel even more magical and lighthearted. Maybe it’s that vacation feeling, or the tropical drinks, or simply the romance of the occasion. Whatever the reason may be, it’s such a pleasure to be a part of these celebrations.
