I love how much senior portrait sessions have changed over the years. I’ve seen the days of the classic yearbook style photo, and the mall studio images, and the traditional cap and gown look. Each of these are amazing, and representative of the time. I’m really enjoying the current trend to take photos out in the world. Whether it’s a nature background, or with your car, or at your high school – let’s get out and have some fun!
Ryan Willis understood this assignment. 😉 He was a senior at Analy High School and a baseball player. We met at the school field to get some shots of him in his jersey and baseball swag. This is a huge part of who he is and I loved seeing him in this place that will always be special to him. Plus, when you have props like a bat, glove, and ball it makes the photoshoot feel a little more comfortable. It can often be a bit intimidating figuring out what to do with your body when you’re the one in front of a camera. So if you have an item or two to hold with you, you tend to feel more natural.
Ryan also wanted to get some shots with his truck, and with a different backdrop, so we had a wardrobe and location change. This is a totally normal and perfectly reasonable request during a senior session, so don’t be afraid to ask for a different look. I want you to have a variety of images to choose from and to help express your personality.
