There is something so cozy about Fall sessions. The air may have a crispness to it, but the lighting has a soft glow and there is a special kind of warmth to this season. Fall in Wine Country is truly magical, so it’s no wonder this is such an iconic season for family sessions. Not to mention the fact that you’ll have gorgeous images in time for your holiday cards! I worked with a lovely family last Fall, and we shot at the Laguna de Santa Rosa Trail. This beautiful regional park is a perfect backdrop for photos, especially in Spring and Fall. The area is known for its hiking and equestrian trails along stunning wetlands, with vineyard views. I met Ron, Rachel, and their adorable daughter, Mabel, here in November and we got so many great shots! I love timing sessions during golden hour so we can get that gorgeous glow in the background. As I edit my photos I also find that some really stand out in black and white, so part of my process is providing a wide variety of images for you to choose from. I loved that this trio had a coordinating color scheme for their wardrobe that really complemented the natural backdrop. Family sessions don’t have to require everyone in the exact same shirt or sweater. It can be as simple as everyone having a similar color in their clothing that helps to tie it all together.
