Senior year is a big moment. It marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of a brand new one. My goal with senior portraits is simple. I want to capture who you actually are right now in a way that feels real, confident, and completely you.

No stiff poses. No awkward smiles. Just great light, a beautiful location, and a relaxed session where you can actually have fun. Maybe that means golden fields at sunset, the Sonoma Coast with wind in your hair, wandering your favorite downtown streets, or a spot that feels meaningful to you. Wherever we go, we will create photos that reflect your personality and celebrate this exciting moment in your life.

As a Healdsburg Senior Photographer, I will guide you the whole way so you never have to wonder what to do with your hands or how to stand. Most seniors start out a little nervous and end up saying the same thing at the end: “That was actually really fun.”

My Approach

Senior sessions are meant to be fun. Seriously.

Most seniors show up a little nervous at first, which is completely normal. Very few people spend their afternoons being professionally photographed. But within the first few minutes things usually shift pretty quickly. We walk around, talk a little, find great light, and before you know it the whole thing just starts to feel natural. I guide you through everything along the way so you never have to wonder what to do. I will help with where to stand, how to move, where to look, and even what to do with your hands. Nothing will feel stiff or overly posed. The goal is to create photos that feel confident, relaxed, and completely like you.

Growing up I was voted class clown, and it turns out that skill comes in surprisingly handy during photo sessions. I keep things light, relaxed, and easy so you can actually enjoy the experience. By the end of the session most seniors say the same thing. “That was way easier than I thought it would be.” We will usually explore one or two locations, change outfits if you would like, and take advantage of beautiful natural light as the sun starts to drop. The end result is a set of photos that feel natural, confident, and true to this moment in your life.

What to Expect During Your Senior Session

Senior sessions are designed to be relaxed, fun, and completely personalized to you. Once you book, I will send over a short questionnaire to learn a little more about you. Things like your style, hobbies, favorite locations, and what kind of vibe you are drawn to. This helps me plan a session that actually reflects who you are.

Choosing a Location

Sonoma County has some incredible backdrops. Golden hills, vineyards, coastal views, redwoods, and charming downtown streets.

Some seniors already have a location in mind. Others prefer to choose from my list of favorite spots. Either way, we will pick a location that fits your style and personality.

What to Wear

You are welcome to bring multiple outfits to create variety in your photos. Most seniors bring two or three looks. Something casual, something a little more styled, and sometimes something that represents a hobby, sport, or passion.

Once your session is booked, I will send a guide with tips to help you choose outfits that photograph beautifully.

During the Session

The session itself is very relaxed. We will walk around the location, find great light, and take photos as we go.

I will guide you through everything so you never feel awkward or unsure of what to do. Most seniors start out a little unsure and end up laughing and having fun by the end.

And yes, parents are always welcome to come along and cheer from the sidelines.

After the Session

Within 48 hours you will receive your first proofs in an online gallery.

From there, you will select your favorite images for in depth retouching. Those final images will be polished and ready for graduation announcements, social media, prints, and keepsakes.

Additional images are always available if you fall in love with more.

Your first proof gallery allows you to see the full story of your session and choose the images you love most. From there, I carefully refine your selected favorites with detailed editing so they are polished, natural, and ready to share, print, and celebrate. Additional images are always available for purchase if you fall in love with more.

Signature Senior Session – $995

Up to 2 hours photography coverage
Up to two locations
Professional editing in my timeless, true to color style
Online gallery with access to your first proofs within 48 hours
You select 30 favorite images for in depth retouching and final delivery

This option is perfect for seniors who want more variety. Two locations allow us to create a gallery that feels dynamic and personal. Think a mix of nature, coastline, downtown, or meaningful places that reflect your personality and style. Additional images may be purchased after gallery delivery.
