As a Sonoma and Napa family photographer, I’m always drawn to the warm light, wildflowers in bloom, and the sense of ease that comes with longer days. This spring family session at Stanly Ranch captured all of that and more—sunshine, laughter, and sweet, candid moments between a family of four.
We began our session in the vineyards, where the mustard flowers were still glowing yellow against a sea of green. The boys, dressed in matching forest green polos, looked right at home running along the vineyard paths. Their energy was contagious, and we leaned into a lifestyle approach—capturing them holding hands, cracking jokes, and playing under the bright mid-day sun. The light at noon can be intense, but at a place like Stanly Ranch, it adds a vibrant, editorial feel to the gallery that’s full of life and warmth.
Mom chose a stunning golden ochre dress that moved beautifully and complimented the natural palette of spring. Dad’s light linen jacket added a soft, polished contrast. Together, they looked elegant yet relaxed—a perfect reflection of the resort’s modern luxury meets wine country vibe.
What I love most about photographing families at Stanly Ranch is the variety. From vineyard rows to manicured lawns to sophisticated indoor spaces, there are endless backdrops within walking distance. We wrapped up the session indoors, where the kids cuddled with their parents on cozy lounge chairs surrounded by modern decor and soft light.
