Engagement Photos with your Vintage Car | Fun and All The Love

If you’re searching for a Sonoma County engagement photographer or planning a Bodega Bay engagement session, this one is a perfect example of how to turn your session into something deeply personal, visually stunning, and honestly… just really fun.

Kelly and Cody’s engagement session was split into two parts, and this right here is part one. Before we headed out to the coast for their Bodega Head engagement photos, we started closer to home on some quiet, backcountry roads in Sonoma County.

And this part of their session? It meant something.

A Vintage Car with a Story

Cody brought along his uncle’s vintage car. Not just any car, but one he had personally restored after his uncle passed away. It’s something he and Kelly now enjoy together, driving those same Sonoma County roads.

Incorporating it into their engagement session wasn’t just about aesthetics, though let’s be real… it photographed insanely well. It was about honoring family, memory, and the life they’re building together.

Those are the layers that take photos from “beautiful” to meaningful.

Why Sonoma County Is So Good for Engagement Sessions

This is exactly why I love being a Sonoma County engagement photographer.

I know these roads. I know where the light drops, where the hills open up, where you can pull over safely, and where you get that clean, editorial backdrop without distractions. We didn’t need anything complicated. Just good light, open space, and a couple who was fully present with each other.

We kept things relaxed and fluid. No stiff posing. Just movement, connection, and letting moments unfold naturally with a little guidance when needed.

That mix is where the magic lives.

The Vibe

Think:

  • Golden hour light hitting the hills just right
  • A quiet road with zero pressure or distractions
  • Wind catching her hair at the perfect moment
  • That mix of playful and intimate without forcing anything

We moved, we laughed, we leaned into the story behind the car, and everything just clicked.

From Sonoma County to Bodega Bay

After wrapping this portion of their session, we headed out to the coast for part two at Bodega Head, where the entire vibe shifted from warm countryside to dramatic ocean views.

If you’re planning a session and want both landscapes, Sonoma County and Bodega Bay together are such a solid combo.

I’ll link part two below so you can see how the full story came together.

Want Something Like This for Your Engagement Session?

Bring the meaningful pieces. The car. The location. The story.

I’ll take care of the rest.
