If you’re searching for a wedding photographer who knows Timber Cove Resort like the back of their camera, welcome — you’re in the right place. This windswept wedding among the cliffs of Sonoma County was one for the books.
Candace and Harry’s wedding at Timber Cove Resort was a joyful, emotional, and sun-drenched celebration perched above the Pacific Ocean. With dramatic coastal views, golden-hour light, and a couple deeply in love, this day made my photographer heart very, very happy.
The Setting: Rugged Meets Refined
Timber Cove is one of those rare venues where nature does the decorating for you. From towering redwoods to panoramic ocean views and iconic coastal cliffs, it’s a dream backdrop for a wedding — and a dream playground for any wedding photographer.
Candace and Harry leaned into that natural beauty with an outdoor ceremony and golden hour portraits that still make me swoon.
Ceremony Among the Wildflowers
Set on a grassy knoll overlooking the coast, the ceremony featured flower girls with fresh crowns, tearful guests, and a stunning walk down the aisle with Candace and her mom. These kinds of personal touches make a wedding unforgettable — and photogenic in all the right ways.
Cocktail Hour on the Ansel Adams Deck
Cocktail hour unfolded on the deck just outside the Ansel Adams Room, where guests were greeted by ocean views, salty breezes, and trays of fresh tuna tartare. With laughter in the air and wine glasses in hand, everyone soaked up the laid-back luxury that Timber Cove does so well. From custom snack boxes to a nostalgic candy bar labeled “Love is Sweet” in Mandarin, the hour was a joyful blend of refined and playful — the perfect transition from ceremony to celebration.
Reception: Intimate, Coastal, and Full of Heart
Dinner was served al fresco under the setting sun, with toasts, tears, and cheers from guests wrapped in blankets. Later, Candace and Harry sliced into their wedding cake with the same joy they brought to every part of the day.
Sunset Portraits: That Glow Though
There’s a reason photographers love the golden hour, and this day delivered. With the wind gently pulling at Candace’s veil and the cliffs catching every last drop of light, we captured some of my favorite portraits ever.
These two made their way down the trail together, bouquet in hand, soaking up a moment alone as the sun dipped behind the headlands.
Toasts, Cake, and the Start of the Dance Party
As the sun dipped below the horizon, Candace and Harry brought the celebration indoors. Surrounded by laughter and candlelight, they wrapped up their toasts, played a round of the always-entertaining Shoe Game (which had everyone cracking up), and cut into their wedding cake with big grins and even bigger energy. Their first dance was sweet and joy-filled — the perfect kickoff to a packed dance floor and an unforgettable night of celebration.
Why I Love Photographing Weddings at Timber Cove
As a Sonoma County wedding photographer, Timber Cove is one of my favorite venues. The light, the textures, the mix of forest and sea — it creates the perfect stage for every kind of wedding story.
Whether you’re planning an intimate elopement or a full wedding weekend on the coast, I’d love to help you document it. I’m local, experienced, and always down to chase golden light (and hold your veil while you climb the rocks — been there, done that 😉).
