Any couple who celebrates a 40th wedding anniversary must have found a magic combination of love, respect, and humility. Marriage is a winding road and there are lots of ups and downs. Throughout my life, and in my work, I’ve discovered that a healthy dose of laughter is another vital ingredient to keep a marriage going strong year after year.
I recently shot at an adorable VRBO in Sonoma where a sweet family was celebrating their parent’s 40th anniversary. They were vacationing in beautiful Wine Country and decided to have an extended family shoot with yours truly.
I love this concept of using a special occasion or milestone as an excuse to get some family shots. We get to gather and celebrate, and everyone ends up with photographs to document that time together. This is a great chance to get individual shots of each family unit as well as the whole group.
I enjoyed working with this family so much. And the anniversary couple were a perfect reminder of that healthy dose of laughter I mentioned earlier. Anytime a wife jokingly threatens a husband with a golf club as everyone laughs, you know there’s a good amount of humor in the relationship. 😉
